Conscious Fashion Rooted in Nature

 

La Cosmo was founded in February 2021 by Sivaraman Senthamaraikannan, with his father Senthamaraikannan as Co-Founder. Based in Auroville and Puducherry, India, La Cosmo is a purpose-driven fashion initiative grounded in sustainability, tradition, and innovation.

 

The brand was born from the vision of Senthamaraikannan, who brings over 30 years of experience in textiles and ethical production. His deep knowledge of natural dyeing, traditional printing techniques, and sustainable practices laid the foundation for La Cosmo. His son Sivaraman now leads the brand’s creative journey, translating this wisdom into meaningful, modern collections.

 

Together, this father–son duo is creating fashion that respects the Earth and empowers communities.

 

Our Philosophy

At La Cosmo, we believe that fashion should be rooted in care, consciousness, and craft. Inspired by the Earth’s palette—botanical dyes, organic textures, and ancient techniques—we craft garments that are beautiful to wear and kind to the planet.

What We Do

Natural Dyes & Ancient Techniques

We use plant-based dyes derived from traditional sources like indigo, madder, myrobalan, and turmeric, following some of the oldest known dyeing practices. Our printing methods are rooted in hand-block and resist-dye traditions, preserving the rich legacy of Indian craftsmanship.

 

Thuli Initiative Project

Our Thuli Project gives new life to textile offcuts and discarded fabrics. These scraps are creatively reimagined into handmade, functional products, providing livelihoods for local women and reducing waste through meaningful design.

 

Artisan Collaboration

We work closely with local artisans—weavers, dyers, printers—ensuring fair wages and dignified working conditions. Together, we co-create pieces that reflect heritage, skill, and soul.

 

Community Impact

Beyond fashion, La Cosmo is about building a community. Through workshops, training, and ongoing employment, we aim to uplift rural artisans and foster self-reliance.

Sivaraman Senthamaraikannan, the Founder, brings modern vision and hands-on creativity to La Cosmo—leading product design, dye research, and artisan collaboration.
Senthamaraikannan, the Co-Founder, is a textile veteran whose 30+ years of experience and passion for natural, traditional practices continue to inspire every aspect of our work.
